dorkbot_hk 002: Urban Invader
The concept of ‘Urban Invader’ starts to develop since the end of year 2009, under the atmosphere of intensive discussion about the urban development of Hong Kong. Urbanisation is closely related to our daily life; we start to review our city as a ‘citizen’. The development process of a collaborative city and the linkage of different elements are organic or planned/programmed. While these are so close to people, these are always overlooked or missed. Throughout the process of re-exploration, with action and interaction, urban citizens re-explore, discover, review, comment and rethink the city they live in.
The ‘Urban Invader’ series lets audience explore the city as flâneur. Audience are encouraged to rethink about the urban development and planning, and the relationship between urbanization and information explosion.
The workshop ‘Urban Invader – Urban Attack’ invites participants to be Urban Invaders. The target of attack is Light – a symbol of prosperity in city. The intensity of light in our city becomes outrageous that light pollution seems to be inevitable.
Participants will produce a mobile attack device with extensive field research. Participants will conduct an attack of light pollution.
