Day 4 (Sat 21/05/2016)
At noon as usual, the Keynote Presentation of the day is by Ashley Wong, Head of Programmes&Operations at Sedition, a online platform that promotes and revolutionising people’s perception and habit of collecting digital artworks. It was responded by Donna Halford-Lovell, director of NeON, Scotland's largest digital art festival.
After a short lunch break, we welcome the Head of Arts at Tai Kwun Tobias Burger who talked about the process of the under-construction museum. Funded by Jockey Club, it will be housed in the historic building of Central “Tai Kwun”, which in Chinese means ‘big station’, the colloquial name used by police officers and the public alike to refer to the former law enforcement complex. And it’s going towards the direction where people can join a heritage tour, engage with contemporary art, participate in workshops, and where the shops and restaurants will offer additional programmes to further enliven the site.
The afternoon is completed with a visit to Cattle Depot for the Opening of the survey exhibition of hk video art, No Reference: A Revisit of Hong Kong Video and Media Art from 1985 curated by Su Wei and Phoebe Wong, which coincides with the Closing Party of ISEA2016. A night of light, la musique and laughter, before the last day.
